Letter From the President

I truly do not even know where to begin when it comes to Phi Mu! I decided to fully commit to going through sorority recruitment pretty much the day applications were due. I was the first person in my family to participate in Greek Life, so I was taking a leap of faith. Being so far away from home, I knew that I needed to make friends and what better way to than by getting involved. Little did I know that Phi Mu would give me just that, and so much more. Never have I ever felt more empowered as a woman than I do as a sister of Phi Mu. These girls constantly encourage me to be the best version of myself, push me towards achieving my goals, and are always there to listen when I need a good vent session. Phi Mu has molded me into the young woman I am today - it has encouraged me to pursue all of my dreams, strengthened my communication skills, provided numerous networking opportunities, and has shown me the value of true friends. Phi Mu has given me so much, that I will always hold near and dear to my heart. These women, this sisterhood, it is unmatched and something truly special. I knew that I wanted to call South Alabama home, but Phi Mu is really where my heart resides. Our sisterhood runs so deep - every single girl is so full of life and love; I have always felt as if I belonged in Phi Mu, and every one accepted me just as I was. These women will always be some of my best friends and some of my greatest blessings. I can't imagine my college experience without these women and their incredible kindness. Leading such a strong group of women has been the highlight of my time at South. If you would have told this small town girl from Sylacauga, Alabama she would be serving as the President of Phi Mu, I would have simply had to laugh. These women have molded me into the leader I am, they push me to always do a little more, go a little farther. I could not be who I am without the sisters of Phi Mu and their unwavering support, love, and encouragement. I am forever grateful to Phi Mu, my sisters, our sisterhood, and all that it has taught me.

Best,

Grace Abernathy
