Letter from Philanthropy Chair
This past semester I had the pleasure of being Kappa Omega’s philanthropy chair. Here at Phi Mu, we really enjoy all of the fundraising and community service we get to do together. This year we have raised around $5,000 so far! We hosted multiple events this past year including our very first Cheesin’ for the Children, Cornhole for Kids, and Flowers with Phi Mu, to go along with our annual Cheers for Children. The chapter of Kappa Omega has our very own Children’s Miracle Network Hospital right here in Mobile, run by our very own university. Because of this, all the money we raise goes directly to the universities Children’s and Women’s Hospital! We tour the hospital at least once a year with our new members and for various other events. We also volunteer for all events sponsored by the hospital including Trick-Or-Trot, Bell Ringing Ceremony, St. Baldrick's Foundation, various holiday events and much more. Interacting with the children at the hospital is very rewarding and inspiring! For everyone going through recruitment, Phi Mu is so excited to meet you and to show you our Philanthropy.
